About Us
Who We Are. The Red Clay Studio is a non-profit dramatic arts school located in Huntsville, Alabama.

What We Do. We teach students the crafts of theater and filmmaking, with particular emphasis on:

  • Acting
  • Play writing
  • Screen writing
  • Digital video production

How You Can Take Part. Participation is open to all residents of the Tennessee Valley. You need not be a student or accredited professional. Here's what you can do:

  • Students - Take classes to broaden your knowledge.
  • Writers - Submit your stage or screen play for production.
  • Actors - Take part in our productions. List yourself in our database of local actors.
  • Independent Filmmakers - Work on our DV productions, and tap into our resources to move your production forward.

Our Mission Statement. The Red Clay Studio for Film and Stage is dedicated to the cultivation of a thriving dramatic arts industry that enriches the Tennessee Valley.

In pursuit of this mission, the Studio will achieve results in the following five areas:

  1. Develop artists and an educated workforce skilled in stage and screen crafts.
  2. Produce original works for stage and screen.
  3. Build complementary relationships with other arts and entertainment industry stakeholders at the local, state, and national level.
  4. Achieve status as a market-driven, financially self-sustaining entity.
  5. Achieve national recognition of the Tennessee Valley as a center for excellence in the dramatic arts.

Why This Matters. Film and stage crafts aren't idle pass-times, they're an important part of community life and regional economic development. The work of the Red Clay Studio directly benefits Huntsville and the state of Alabama.
